My copy of Classic Sewing Magazine arrived in the mail yesterday after much waiting and anticipation. The magazine is full of wonderful ideas for your Fall sewing along with great articles filled with new techniques. I always look forward to seeing how my garments have been photographed and how the article has been presented. Once again I was thrilled and want to thank the wonderful staff for allowing me to contribute.
My assignment for the magazine is to provide something for the boys which I always look forward too, but when I can include a coordinating outfit for the girls, I’m twice as happy. Armed with sketches and rough ideas, it was on our shopping trip to The Sewing Room where I found the perfect fabric for both garments and everything came together. Spechler-Vogel featherwale corduroy in Parrot for the boy and “Flower Dance” by Art Gallery Fabrics for the girl. The two fabrics blended together beautifully and the printed one gave me a good range of colors to match embroidery floss for smocking. Both smocking designs are included in the magazine.
