My issue of Classic Sewing Magazine arrived in the mail and I beyond thrilled to have an original smocking design featured along with the two newest patterns! And how is the premiere issue you might be wondering. Just fabulous. No other words are needed. 🙂 The magazine is available on the Classic Sewing Magazine website, fabric stores specializing in fine fabrics, and Barnes and Noble Dec. 8th.
Easter smocking was the request from the magazine. The request came in July. I have always found planning out of season very very challenging. In this case the inspiration came from Easter outfits that I made for the grandchildren several years ago. You know, those outfits that I created which never evolved into a full pattern or smocking design. It happens.
This time baby chicks came to mind. Sweet baby chicks all in a row smocked on classic white outfits. A simple picture smocking design which can be found in the magazine.
The bubble was made using pattern #145 and the dress using pattern #146-S. Both patterns include sizes 3 – 24 month. You can look forward to the dress being available in larger sizes around the first of the year.
