My excuse….. well it is Spring after all. The fabric was washed and pressed, the pattern was ready and the sewing of the Easter dress was to begin on Saturday. But, all it took was a text message from a friend inviting me to an event right up the road in historic Morrisville, AL to get distracted. A quick message to Anna was enough to entice her to abandon plans of productive house cleaning. With storms threatening to move in we rushed off, planning to take in the craft show and possibly stop in at 1818 Farm to see what they had going on for the day.
The activities at the farm stole the show for us. Sheep shearing and baby lambs… need I say more? And I mean BABY lamb. Born in the early morning hours on shearing day gives you the special privilege of staying nose to nose with your momma. We also had the privilege of watching them get to know each other in their pen. That was one proud Momma with her new haircut and baby.
And of course there was food for the boy. He reminds me every time I see him that he will be 6 years old in May and that he is always hungry!
