To help get your creative juices flowing, I thought that I would share some ideas for the smocking design, “Crosses”, featured in the Spring issue of Classic Sewing Magazine. I chose pattern #148 for the article for two reasons, a brand new pattern is always a plus for the magazine and this particular smocking design works well for an older child. The magazine depends on me to provide designs for the boys, which I love, but I also keep the girls in mind and “brother/sister” outfits are a favorite of mine. So, how about a dress made from pattern #146 or a bubble for baby brother using pattern #145? I’m hooked on white and turquoise right now but any Spring color combination would look great!
