101-front-updatedWith cooler weather approaching, I’m thinking soft flannel for baby.  Today’s inspiration is made from daygown pattern #101 with pink and blue smocked baby rattles.  The “Baby Rattles” smocking design is available in our “Beginning Smocking” book and is a great introduction to picture smocking.
A perfect homecoming gown for a new baby.

Did you pleat flannel for the inset to smock or use broadcloth inset than inserted into pattern using flannel material? This gives me an idea for new little nephew due in November. Thanks for all the great ideas and especially tips in sewing!
I have enjoyed sewing for two grandbabies this summer since retiring. I have almost worn out patterns #134,135,138,145. What fun!
