I must admit that I have a weakness for vintage sewing books.  I love the older projects and a basic book that has separate chapters for things such as “Seams” and “Buttonholes.”  There is something refreshing about a reference book that assumes you know nothing and attempts to cover it all.  And looking at the page about buttonholes, I am once again thankful for a modern machine that can out do anything that I might attempt by hand.

i love the old books, too.. i have several, and i do refer to them from time to time – i find it helpful to see the “old ways”, lol.. .sort of like learning to add and subtract before moving on to the calculator 🙂
